How to Make a Bubbly Sine FM Bass in Serum

Drum and bass producers, here's how you make a sine FM bass in Serum.

My notes from this Short

01

FM from the sub makes it bubbly

Add FM from the sub oscillator on the harmonics oscillator. The higher you add it, the more bubbly the sine FM gets. I use the digital harmonic series on B, one octave down and plus seven semitones, with a sine on A and the sub oscillator, both two octaves down. You can also FM from B on oscillator A, which is the sub.

Serum osc B for a drum and bass sine FM bass: the HarmonicSeries wavetable on octave -1 and semitone +7, with the warp mode on FM (Sub) and modulation on the level
Osc B on the harmonic series, one octave down and plus seven semitones, with FM from the sub on the warp knob.
02

A whoop envelope on the levels and the cutoff

LFO 1 is an envelope that looks like a whoop type of thing, and it goes on the level of every oscillator. Make sure it also goes to the cutoff of the filter, a multi high pass 12 with some drive and B in it.
